Live Hockey Action on CHEV

The Markham Waxers host the Toronto Jr. A Canadiens. Catch all the exciting play-by-play, starting at 7:25pm on www.chevradioam.com. For those who are wondering, Slapshot will be at the game tonight. He was absent from last week's home games, thanks to the flu. Yes, even polar bears get the flu.

Don't forget, CHEV radio goes to live-to-air from Sgt. Peppers Bar and Grill, from 10pm - 2am. Tune in for some great live music; or come buy, chat with the CHEV staff and enjoy the food.

See you there.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

CHEV on MySpace

To help you get to know us better, we've created our very own MySpace page. We're going to use it to post photos, videos, and much more.

Check it out and feel free to add us to your friend's list.

CHEV on MySpace

***Programming note***

Tonight's episode of Goin' Nuts will be on from 5-8pm. Jordan and Mike are getting the extra hour because they were unable to do their show last week. Unfortunately, we had some people working on the equipment and this prevented us from broadcasting. Tune in and get a good laugh.

Need A Computer Monitor?

Dan and I recently shipped a huge computer screen to New Brunswick. I'm not going to lie, it was a pain in the butt. The best part was when we had to convince the Canada Post officials that the screen was not over 60 Kilos.

Anyway, we have decided that eBay is not the easiest way to sell the extra computer monitors we have at the station. In fact, we're going to remove eBay from the picture.

Therefore, if you are looking to purchase a computer monitor and you live in the Southern Ontario area, feel free to contact us. We have a number of working monitors of all sizes. Drop us a line at info@chevradioam.com, give us a call at 905-294-0033; or, you can even send a fax to 905-294-9629.

Hope to hear from you soon!

More Notes....

Friday night is Hockey night on CHEV.

Tonight, the Markham Waxers take on the Stouffvile Spirit. Chris Hrynk will have the play-by-play, starting at 7:25pm on www.chevradioam.com. The Waxers are coming off a sweet overtime victory against Huntsville last night. Markham also defeated Pickering on Dec. 8th. Will the Waxers make it three in a row? Tune in to find out!

Unfortunately, there will be no Sgt. Peppers this weekend. Live-to-air will return next Saturday. Of course, Peppers will still be open on Saturday, serving great food and good times.

More programming notes

Dan here,

Also have to apologize for the last minute cancellation of this week's edition of 'Goin Nuts'. We had some guys at the station taking a look at the equipment and what made it worse was they really did not do much. Sometimes you get paid well to jerk off on the job without being a porn star. But techie's certainly have the upper hand on us everyday of the week.

Patiently waiting for tonight's scheduled shows. Thursday night is packed so make sure you are strapped in to www.chevradioam.com.

Late.

Programming Note

Due to scheduling commitments, we will not be broadcasting tonight's Waxers game. You can catch the Markham Waxers tomorrow night when they take on Stouffville.

Meanwhile, catch The Top Ten with Jeff Penn and Tony Walsh from 8-9pm EST, and Extra Time with Tony, Rohan and Dominic from 9-11pm EST.

Tuesday Musings

- Dan feels he had a good show today. He is still stunned over the fact that the Goin' Nuts guys were with women on Saturday night at Sgt. Peppers. But he and the rest of the CHEV staff got over it.

- Mike our editing guy, says that he's looking forward to Friday when he trains Slapshot in the art of mascot Kung Fu.

- I'm wondering how were going to get a giant computer screen to New Brunswick.

In other news, CHEV's own Dan Deeley was recently roasted on his FOX blog. Click here to read the fodder.

Eric out.

Paging Dr. Gonzo

Another new show has hit the CHEV airwaves.

It's called The Gonzo Report: A recap of stories about and effected by Popular Culture. Using news, gossip and music, your host B.H. Ramsay paints you a vivid picture of a vibrant world where arts, entertainment and news connect to mold and shape the world around you. Tying the whole thing together with his uniquely acerbic wit, B.H. lives and breaths the challenge delivered to the media by eclectic Journalist Hunter S. Thompson, to neither show any mercy nor expect any mercy in the pursuit of truth.

Make an appointment for The Gonzo Report - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
from Noon - 1pm, on www.chevradioam.com.

More plugs

Dan checking back in,

The Markham Waxers are back in action tomorrow night at 7:30 PM. I know some of you don't really follow Junior Hockey but one thing is for sure: Markham and many other towns need to support minor hockey. Its ridiculous to suggest Toronto and the greater area are heavy into hockey when the numbers for Amateur hockey is practically non-existent.

Right now I am listening to 'Extra Time', and before that 'The Ten with Jeff Penn'. Very good shows so far tonight from both crews. Seems Tony Walsh is double-dipping by working both shows, doing both admirably. So far people love the two shows, unless you are the guy who wrote an e-mail asking Jeff Penn if he's "bleeping mental". Apparently the guy did not agree with what Jeff said and handled it VERY well. That's sarcasm.

I have one more show for the week tomorrow at 9AM. Mojo Grande will be performing at Sgt. Peppers on Saturday night and they have been the best band I have seen thus far. Also check out An Hour or 2 of Scotland at 3PM Saturday. While I'm at it, check out the Skinny Bee Show Sunday night at 8PM. Cheers everyone.

Where's Johnny Legend?

Lots of people have asked us about the whereabouts of The Johnny Legend Show.

First off, Johnny is still alive and breathing. Like most of the CHEV staff, Johnny has many projects on the go. He's currently working on something that is very important and needs a lot of time and effort. Unfortunately, this means that he is unable to do his show.

However, Johnny's show will hopefully be back on the CHEV airwaves in the new year. As always, it will feature the creative banter between Johnny and co-host, Stacey Washington; as well as the best independent music.

CHEV invites YOU

Dan checking in on a Saturday morning,

Tonight, CHEV Radio will be Live-on-Location (LOL) at Sgt. Peppers located on Hwy 7 in Markham from 10 PM to 2 AM. As you already know we webcast each band that comes in and performs. Some of the CHEV staff, including myself, will be around the place just hanging out and having fun. But we invite you to check out the place not only because we are covering it but also for Sgt. Peppers' great food and specials.

Remember to tune in live tomorrow night (Sunday) at 8PM to hear 'The Skinny-B Show'. And then Monday morning at 9AM I am back to have another kick-ass week with 'BTN'. Holler.

If It's not Scottish, It's Crap!

Is it December, already? Better yet, is it Friday already? Boo-yah!

If you love all things Scottish, then you want to tune into An Hour (or 2) of Scotland. Rob Docherty takes us into the World of Scottish talk and music for two hours every Saturday afternoon (3-5pm). Seasoned broadcaster Docherty brings his radio experience along with his Scot background and knowledge of his former home. An Hour (or 2) of Scotland lets you indulge in the music and the culture of Scotland.

Don't forget! CHEV goes live-to-air from Sgt. Peppers every Saturday from 10pm-2am. Rumor has it that the John Stewart Band will be performing. And when I say John Stewart, I'm referring to the musician; not the comedian. But, the musician is pretty funny too.

- Eric, out.
