Wednesday's The New Thursday

HEADS UP!

For those who listen to Extra Time and The Ten, take note. This week's programs might be on Wednesday night instead of the usual Thursday. The times would still be the same (8-11pm EST). However, not everything is set in stone. Once we have an idea of the situation, we'll let everyone know.

In other news, Dan has been getting lots of requests from listeners to sing during his show, Bring The Noise. Unfortunately, he's been a little hesitant. But, I figure Dan will give into peer pressure. Therefore, if you want to hear Dan Deeley belt out the classics, send an e-mail to chevradionoise@gmail.com.

Rumor has it that Dan does a great version of "I Swear."

- The Skinny Bee Show, 8-9pm

Throughout the day and night, we are going to replay programming from the past week as well as the finest independent music.

I'm Eric and I'm out.

The Ten taking week off

With Tony out of commission this week, both he and Jeff will be taking a much-deserved break from "The Ten" on Thursday. The soccer guys are back at 9 with Tony away from the booth but Dom and Rohan will carry the ship.

Just in case nobody knows this for certain, this is not facebook. CHEV Radio does not use facebook, never have. However, we do have a MySpace page at: www.myspace.com/chevradio.

As usual, Bring The Noise with Dan Deeley is on at 9AM with Mail it in Wedesday tomorrow, "What's The Deeley-O?" Thursday and Fantasy Friday. Enjoy.

Great Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for someone who would like to dress up as Slapshot The Bear, the mascot for the Markham Waxers.

The successful candidate would attend all Waxer home games on Friday nights (and a couple of Saturdays) at Markham's Centennial Arena, from now until the end of February. He or she will wear the costume and entertain fans during the game. A typical hockey game lasts from 7:30 - 10:00pm.

This is a great to way volunteer in the community. It's perfect if you are looking for "volunteer hours."

If you feel you have what it takes to be the most popular mascot in Junior 'A' Hockey, or would like more information, please send an e-mail to: info@chevradioam.com. Please type "mascot" in the subject line.

Good Ol' Snow

Today was the first real snowfall of the year.

It was ugly.

Normally, it takes me about 45 minutes to get to the station. Today it took me 90 long minutes. I got into the news room just as Bring The Noise was starting. I'm usually in there by 8:30am. Despite the snowfall, everyone made it the station in one piece and no shows were preempted. Unfortunately, you can't say that for the Skinny Bee Show.

Due to some unforeseen events, Skinny and Bee were unable to do their show last night. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Not to worry though. The Skinny Bee Show will return next Sunday at 8pm EST.

HOCKEY, HOCKEY and MORE HOCKEY

Hockey Day in Canada isn't just happening on the CBC.

It's also taking place right here on CHEV. Except we're going to call it, Hockey Nights in Canada.

Why nights? Because the Markham Waxers are playing two home games this weekend and we have it covered.

Tonight, Markham takes on the Vaughn Vipers. These teams played on Monday, with Vaughn winning, 4-1. There's no doubt that the Waxers have revenge on their minds. Then on Saturday night, the Waxers host the Aurora Tigers. Sure, the Tigers have a record of 34-2-1-0; but that won't scare the Waxers.

Catch the play-by-play for both games, starting at 7:25pm EST on www.chevradioam.com.

Think of it this way: Why bother paying ridiculous prices and watch the Leafs get trounced by the Canucks? Instead, check out some great young talent at affordable prices. If you can't make it to the Centennial Arena (8600 McCowan Rd. in Markham), then be sure to tune in and listen to all the exciting action.

Fine Dining

Every Saturday, you've probably wondered about Sgt. Pepper's Pub and Grill, the site for CHEV's Live-To-Air program. You've probably said to yourself, "Gee, I keep hearing about the place on CHEV and I watch the webcast, but I've always wondered what it would be like to actually go there."

Well, you're in luck.

In case you even needed another reason to check out Sgt. Pepper's, they now have a website.

The site, made with assistance from CHEV's hardworking staff, offers everything you need to know about the pub. In fact, after checking out Sgt. Pepper's on the web, you'll definitely want to go there in person and enjoy the good times.

The War To Settle The Score

Dan's fantasy hockey team is facing my fantasy hockey team. So far, he's beating me 8-3. However, there's a few days left before the totals are final. Needless to say it's going to be intense. If I can knock off Dan's team, then it could be the biggest upset in the history of fantasy hockey. Stay tuned.

Bring The.......Flu?

Well, it was a bit of a bumpy start, but the first Bring The Noise of 2007 is in the books. Unfortunately, the show lasted two hours instead of the usual three. Poor Dan was battling a very sore throat and despite giving a full effort, he wasn't able to make it to 12:00. Right now, he's in the boardroom, drinking can after can of ginger ale. However, he's promised that tomorrow's show will go the usual three hours.

Want to drop Dan a "Get Well" note? Send it to chevradionoise@gmail.com. It will be better then the usual spam he gets.

In other news, according to MySpace, we now have 300 friends! Feel free to add us anytime you want. We love getting new friends. Best of all, we never say "no."
