Oh Snap!

A power failure hit the station at 11:50 this morning. Fortunately, we were back on in time for The Gonzo Report. Unfortunately, Dan was unable to wrap up Bring The Noise and deliver his top five list for the day. He might do two lists for tomorrow; but, don't hold me on that.

Anyway, sorry for inconvenience. Thanks to everyone who called the station. More importantly, thanks for hanging in while we corrected the problem.

NEW SHOW: Champagne Room

Urban and Hip Hop music have come to CHEV!

The Champagne Room debuts tomorrow night (8-9pm EST) with hosts, Louie ‘Doe Money’ Jacobis & Robert ‘Nature’ Lee.

In one solid hour, the show will feature:

- Urban/ Hip Hop
- 90 – 100% Canadian independent content

- Artists & Group Interviews
- Up-to-date Hip Hop entertainment news/ gossip
- Discussions on topics that relate to the community
- Discussions on topics related to the music business such as creating business plans, radio press kits, artist’s contracts, etc.

So, who's Doe Money and Nature?

Louie ‘Doe Money’ Jacobis worked his way to become a respected mc who was featured on two mix-tapes that were highly circulated in Scarborough in the late 90's along with a local group called 5 Deuce. It wasn’t until he teamed up with Robert ‘Nature’ Lee, a long time high school friend, that his dreams of bringing the Canadian Hip Hop industry back to its true essence started to become true. Together they founded a multi-media entertainment company called Mafioso Music Group, allowing Louie ‘Doe Money’ Jacobis to focus on his up & coming projects as well as continuing to perfect his craft as an artist.

Robert ‘Nature’ Lee’s refreshing professional attitude and dedication to whatever he does is what sets him apart from the rest. Since his humble beginnings growing up in a Christian home listening to gospel music to having friends that listened to everything from rock to conscious reggae, he has always had an appreciation of all forms of music. From selling local artists and groups mix-tapes to throwing and promoting parties, he has solidified his position in the local hip hop scene with the appetite and love for music and studying the culture of Hip Hop. Becoming a co-host, along with Louie ‘Doe Money’ Jacobis is only a step into where these two young entrepreneurs look to take Hip Hop music throughout this country.

These two have different backgrounds but are united by culture of Hip Hop have come together to put a stamp on the Canadian Urban/ Hip Hop landscape. Featuring two cultured hosts & the best of Canada's independent Urban/ Hip Hop music ever created. The show promises to entertain & educated its listeners about urban/ hip hop music, the hip hop culture, & the local artists.

Let's Go Waxers!

For the first time since last year, there will not be any live hockey on CHEV tonight. That's because the Waxers clinched their first round playoff series last night. It looks like they will face the St. Mike's Buzzers in round two of the OHA playoffs.

From now until Sunday night, you will be able to enjoy the best of CHEV programming. On Sunday, there will be new episodes of Current Attractions and The Skinny Bee Show. The Experiment will not air this week; but, it will return next week.

Have a great weekend.

-Eric

PS: A new show will debut very soon, featuring the best independent Hip-Hop. Stay tuned for more details.

Thanks Winter

The latest snowstorm caused a little trouble at the CHEV studios, today.

First, we were knocked off air for a few minutes this morning. Then, as B.H. was getting ready for The Gonzo Report, our main mic suddenly stopped working. Now, I'm not blaming the snow for the mic not working; but since I can't think of any other logical explanation (believe me, I looked into it), I'm blaming the snow for the mic not working. This will explain why you heard all music instead of B.H.'s rants on popular culture, mixed in with the best independent music.

Fortunately, we were able to correct the situation with our main mic.

Anyway, since more snow could be on the way, I just wanted to give you a heads up. Tomorrow, if you tune in for your favourite program and it's not on, the simple, logical reason, is because of all the snow.

Deeley from Bring The Noise will be showing off his pipes on Tuesday's show. Right now, he's been running a poll as to what song he should sing. It's down to "Toxic" by Brittany Spears; and "Bad Girls" by Donna Summers.

You can still vote as well. Send your suggestion to chevradionoise@gmail.com.

New Program: The Experiment

The Experiment : Sunday, 9pm - 10pm

York Region has finally found a voice for the younger generation with host Shane Alexander. A place where the kids can speak their minds freely about things that are important to them. The Experiment will be the place where the local younger people will hang out after school to talk about life. The Experiment will focus on the serious issues that are concerning the young people today in a down-to-earth frank nature. Have you ever thought of suicide? Being treated badly at school or by your family or by your special someone? Is school not for you and want to know what your other options are? These questions we’ll find the answers for with specialists in the field along with the kids taking the journey down the road with us. Once a month we’ll also highlight a young business person who is making a difference in their community. The Experiment promises to be the voice of the younger community.
