The Six-Hour Rotation

What's on CHEV this weekend?

Well, we've programmed a six-hour rotation that features a wide range of our shows. Baring any power failures, it breaks down like this:

Hour(s)
0-1 - Independent Music
1-2 - The Gonzo Report
2-4 - An Hour (or 2) of Scotland
4-6 - Champagne Room

This will go until Sunday at 5pm. Every six-hour loop starts around 1:00 and 7:00.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

PS: Bring The Noise returns, Monday morning at 9am ET

A Boy At Spring Training

Dan Deeley is a huge baseball fan. It's in his blood. It's no surprise he has coached youth baseball and was a well-rounded infielder with the Markham Pioneers.

Dan's in Florida right now, taking in some spring training action. Today, he's in Winter Haven to watch the Blue Jays/Indians game. He'll probably head to Dunedin and other spring training sites as well.

If you see him, be sure to say "Hello."

Not sure what he looks like? Well, perhaps this will help:

JOIN US FOR A FREE COMMUNITY SKATE

Join Chief Armand La Barge, Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni, YRP Mascots and members of the Markham Waxers Provincial Junior “A” Hockey Club for the second annual York Regional Police Free Community Skate.

York Regional Police recognizes the benefits of families and communities spending quality time together. Enjoying family time, getting to know members of our community and spending time with local heroes and role models like police officers, celebrities and sports figures, helps build strong, safe, vibrant communities.

After the holiday season our local Food Banks’ supplies are at their lowest levels, yet the need for their assistance by the less fortunate of our community lasts all year long. As this event was very successful last year, the York Regional Police is using the opportunity to help this important cause by inviting all who attend this free event to be “Heroes Partnering with Heroes” by bringing a donation of non-perishable food items for our local Food Drive.

Free coffee, hot chocolate and snacks will be available

The York Regional Police Free Community Skate will take place between 2:00p.m. and 4:00pm on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Angus Glen Community Centre, 3990 Major MacKenzie Drive East in the Town of Markham.

For more information, please contact the York Regional Police Community Services Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext.7907.

Not A Good Way To Spend A Sunday Night

Tough break for the Markham Waxers.

After jumping out to a 3-0 series lead, they couldn't finish the deal, losing to St. Mike's, 4 games to 3. Sunday's game seven went into triple overtime before the Buzzers found the back of the net and ended Markham's season. A very tough pill for the Waxers to swallow. To make things worse, St. Mike's jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Markham tied things up, late in the third period.

So, for the third year in a row, St. Mike's eliminates Markham. Next year, boys, next year.

Congratulation to the Waxers for a hard fought season.

Gonzo Report On Break

The Gonzo Report will not air today or next week. Host B.H. Ramsay is having minor surgery and will be out of commission until the middle of the month.

All of us here at CHEV wish B.H. a speedy recovery.

If you would like to contact B.H., feel free to send him an e-mail to info@chevradioam.com. We'll forward it on to him.

BTW, if the Waxers lose tonight's game five match against St. Mike's (I doubt it since they're leading the series 3-1), then we will air Game Six tomorrow night.
