FOOTBALL AND FUNDRAISING

This Thursday, watch the Argos challenge the Montreal Alouettes, while supporting a great cause.

The Toronto Argonauts and The Centre for Dreams are partnering up for an exciting fundraising event on Thursday July 26th, 2007. For every ticket that is sold, $5.00 will go towards the centre and helping them continue running their educational programs and life skills training.

The Centre for Dreams is a day program for adults living with a developmental challenge and it is their mission to help these individuals continue to live a meaningful and fulfilling life that they otherwise would probably not have. After the age of 21, there is no longer any education provided from the public school system and they virtually have nothing left to do. It is important that we do not forget these very special individuals as they deserve just as much as anyone else, the same respect and opportunities in life.

With that said, listed below are some incentives you can get or help The Centre for Dreams receive with your support:

The Centre for Dreams Group Incentives:

* 0-90 Tickets: Ticket Upgrade for 4
* 100-199: Autographed Merchandise
* 200-399: Player/Cheerleader to attend a DREAMS event
* 400-499: Participation in Fan Tunnel
* 500-699: Field Passes
* 700-949: Video Board Spot
* 1000: Cheque Presentation on field pre-game

This is a great event to gather a group of your friends together, hang out and enjoy this amazing summer weather – all for a great cause. In order to receive the discounted prices on tickets, a form must be filled in and faxed. If you would like more information about the game and ordering tickets or about The Centre for Dreams, feel free to visit their website at www.dreamsinc.ca or contact Michelle directly 905.209.9092.

Author of "SWAP" on BTN

Today Dan had a special guest on "Bring The Noise" this morning. Sam Moffie, author of SWAP, came on the program to talk about the book (www.samsstories.com). The novel is based loosely on the story of two baseball players who swapped wives back in the 1970's. These days people get away with a lot of things and that would seem rather odd in this day in age. So just imagine what people were thinking back in the 1970's! Hopefully Sam's book someday turns into a film - only because Dan asked to be in it. Keep dreaming kid. Check the podcast site for the interview.

We're getting to the middle of the week which means we look forward to The Gonzo Report with B.H. Ramsay with his guest Cheryl from Britgirl Productions (www.myspace.com/britgirlproductions) on Wednesday at Noon EST. Gonzo will also be on Friday at Noon with The Complainers checking in at 1PM. Matt Chin, Ricky Thompson, Brown Guy and the quiet girl will be back this Thurday at 9PM with more of "My Radio Show". We will concede that this is the funniest and creative show on CHEV Radio and they effectively make male genitals seem interesting. And Suburban Bass is back in the house with more house, electronic underground and more Friday night at 9PM. They use vinyl which makes them very special. Serious!

Then tune in at 8PM on Sunday with The Skinny B Show. Don't want to jinx this but this week may be the week they have a Hollywood producer checking in on the program. We'll keep you posted. They do, however, have a very high-profile listener to their show named Don Imus. The name is Don Imus, the e-mail address has Don Imus, so we're led to believe that this is really Don Imus. Besides, if you make up an e-mail address with someone else's name then you are a total loser.

Make sure you lock in to hear all those shows and more at: www.chevradioam.com.

Do you have talent?

What is up?

Frank Coffey of www.etruesports.com was Dan's guest today on BTN. Frank is a writer who has traded in his serious card in for sarcasm and humor. If you have a chance to see the website you will not be disappointed with what you'll read. May want to bring some tissue as some of the stories will make you laugh so hard you'll cry.

The CHEV Radio website looks to undergo some changes over the coming weeks and one of the big changes we want to implement is the chance for YOU to have your very own talk show on the station. Some of you probably think you can pull it off, right? Well you may think it's easy but it's really not. However, we at CHEV Radio feel that opportunity should never be taken from anyone and if you think you have a great idea for a show you can e-mail us at: info@chevradioam.com. Make sure you submit a resume and if you have a demo of your show bring it in if you make it to an interview.

Good luck.

NEW SHOW: The Complainers

Do you have a complaint? About your friends, your neighbours, the service you got, the price you paid, the school, the neighbours, the kids, the boss? Here’s the place to vent. One hour on a Friday afternoon where we’ll listen to your complaints. We’ve been complaining for years — and we’d like you to join us.Check back here for our upcoming topics. This Friday, July 6th, we’ll be talking about

  • Tipping — how much of a tip should you leave?

Do you feel pressured to tip for mediocre service?

How about those tip jars that seem to be popping up everywhere? I mean, can’t we just pay for something without having to give our change back

How do you feel? Call us on Friday 1 pm. 1-877-242-chev OR send us an e-mail in advance: complainersradio@gmail.com

  • Public space, private stuff –

hey, how do you feel when you see a woman breastfeeding her child in public? Does it give you the creeps, make you feel uncomfortable? Or, do you think it’s perfectly ok…maybe even beautiful. Don’t be shy, if you want to complain about either side of the issue, call us.

  • To spank or not to spank –

were you ever threatened by the wooden spoon as a kid? There’s a growing debate about spanking these days — is it a parent’s right or is it violence? Call us and let us know where you stand on this issue.

Who are The Complainers?

We’re Anjali and Michele – two urban women who get accused of complaining a lot. Some even call us negative. But we’ll listen to either side of an issue. More importantly, we want to hear what you’ve got to complain about. Join us Fridays at 1 pm, on chevradioam.com or send us an e-mail and tell us what you think at complainersradio@gmail.com. Don’t be shy!There are lots of complaints to be made!

Listen to The Complainers on www.chevradioam.com: Fridays, 1-2 pm ET

Visit their website: http://complainers.wordpress.com/
